Inferknow started as an informal gathering of friends four years ago and has grown into a semiannual
overnight camping celebration of local art, music, and performance. Gathering the best in
local talent, everything from fire sculpture to live music, these events have been held in a location in
Fieldbrook, CA that has now become known as Area 74. Up until now these events have been held
by a group of volunteers and artists with no formal organizational structure or permits. Inferknow
LLC was formed in January 2008 to help address the necessary organizational concerns and logistics
of having these events in a safe and fun manner while meeting the county's standards for special
events. Inferknow LLC proposes to create a safe permitted outdoor venue at Area 74 to support and
showcase local artists and musicians. Community members are invited twice a year to experience
Humboldt’s best art, music and performance with a heavy focus on building the community through
celebrating the arts. The events will also offer the performers a chance to showcase their talent and
network with other artists. The goal is to create a safe, fun, and sustainable outdoor venue for up to
1000 attendees and performers. By supporting this project you are helping the local art and music
community grow, create jobs, and celebrate life in Humboldt County!
We are REALLY close to making Area 74 a reality. We are still short of funds and we need your
help NOW to get us there. We need to pay the permit consultants, the permit
application, and a lawyer to make it all legit. Area 74 is this close to being a dream come true. We
need YOU to take it over the top. We are at a point where time is critical, and every dollar counts.
To make the 2009 spring event happen we need to raise $6,000 ASAP. Please
pass this on and pitch in what you can.
